Practical, culturally sensitive support from pregnancy to age five
Warm Hut is working through Salford Family Hubs to support parents, carers and families during pregnancy and the early years of a child’s life.
The early years, from pregnancy to age five, are an important time for every family. The right support during this stage can help parents feel more confident and help children have a strong start in life.
Warm Hut provides practical support that is shaped around each family’s needs, experiences and cultural background. We understand that families may have different traditions, languages, beliefs and ways of caring for children. We respect this and work with families in a way that feels welcoming, simple and supportive.
Through this work, we help families understand what support is available, connect with Family Hubs and other local services, and feel more confident asking for help when they need it.
How we support families
Warm Hut supports parents and carers with:
- Practical guidance during pregnancy and the early years
- Support from pregnancy through to a child’s fifth birthday
- Help understanding local family and early years services
- Support with parenting, routines and family wellbeing
- Help connecting with Family Hubs and other local support
- Emotional and practical support for families who feel isolated
- Culturally aware support for African, migrant, refugee and asylum-seeking families
Our approach
Every family is different. Some parents may be new to the UK, new to Salford, or unsure how to access support. Others may need help that understands their culture, language, family values or personal experiences.
Warm Hut works alongside families in a respectful and understanding way. We listen, guide and support parents so they feel more confident caring for their children and accessing the right help.
This support is for parents, carers and families in Salford with children from pregnancy to age five.
